Putters off for Review

Today, four of our prototypes went to The Hacker’s Paradise for their Fall Golf Outing at PGA National Resort & Spa.
This will be our second review with THP, this time the review will be conducted by 50 golfers. This will be our ultimate test yet, we’re looking forward to what everyone thinks.
Stay tuned for pictures from this coming weekends event.

As with all our putters, The mmmMallet has been CNC machined from a billet of 1081 carbon steel. It is a mid-mallet size, with a foot print slightly larger than the Macro-Blade. Weighing in at 475+ grams with maximum weighting, this hefty club has a smooth-as-silk feel when stroking a putt. The club almost swings itself on the down stroke and the golfer is rewarded with a solid impact sound as the ball leaves the face. The current prototype is a heel-shaft but a centre-shaft cousin is due out November 2010.

What is a Macro-Blade, you ask. Well everyone knows what a blade-style putter looks like, we made it Macro! Macro=Bigger … 200g bigger as a matter-of-fact. Who is this putter for? Anyone who struggles with their putting stroke. The weight of this putter head engages the bigger muscles of the upper body, slows the putting tempo and virtually swings itself on the down-stroke.
Bigger IS Better .. The West Coast Putter Co. Macro-Blade.

UPDATE: Many thanks to everyone, and that is a LOT of you that applied to be WCP Testers, the response was overwhelming! We are closing the open application today (Aug 12, 2010) because we have a huge group to choose from already. Thank you again everyone, we’ll contact our chosen Testers by August 31, 2010.

With the addition of 3 new prototypes, West Coast Putter Co. has openings for a few good testers.

August 3, 2010 – West Coast Putter Co. Announces the arrival of its’ three new prototypes to the studio. Later this week we’ll put up some raw images from the workshop in our gallery.

Hey folks,

Thank you for your patience. As posted before I was having issues with my website’s current architecture. In order to improve your user experience I’ve upgraded my hosting abilities and added better functionality for you the user and me the information provider.
The site should be well on it’s way by the weekend and hopefully live by Monday.

I’ve added the community component Mingle to the site and I encourage you all to sign up, it’s a little Facebook-like but then again that model worked well. I’ve already added security to protect from spam bots and such so your information (the little you need to provide anyway) is safe.

Again, thanks for your patience.

For Immediate Release

On the night of  the PGA Show in Orlando, FL we are pleased to release the first images and details of PROTO1 the revolutionary new design from West Coast Putter Co.

Unfinished Protoype Body

The putter starts with a single block of 1080 Carbon Steel for the best FEEL available. Both the face and body are machined from the same block of steel ensuring a consistent grain structure between the two most important parts of the club. The heads and faces are hand ground and polished then finished to the clients’ taste; Oilcan, Black, Brushed Nickel or special Holographic paint developed for West Coast Putters by D&B Custom Cycles.

PROTO1 with its internal works

The idea behind the PROTO1 was a putter that could be set up, pre-round, for the conditions of the day. The concept is simple enough; a putters’ performance is gaged in part by the rebound effect created at impact, alter the rebound effect and change the performance. With a series of inserts the golfer can add more or less roll by changing the way energy is transmitted at impact. This innovation gives the golfer the feel they want, roll they need and performance they paid for, regardless of conditions.

Grooves

The faces are machined to specific thicknesses to ensure maximum rebound characteristics. The face loft is a Standard 3.5 degrees, however is available in 2.5 and 4.5 degrees as well.
The vertical grooves help with toed or heeled putts while the horizontal grooves impart the perfect roll to get that ball in the cup.

As we move from the prototyping phase to the next step in development there are many changes in the pipe. Some cosmetic, some performance. We are working with space age ceramics and polymers to perfect the feel and sound of the putter, we are testing different metals for head materials, as well as head shapes and weight placement to increase the performance.

Whether you are a 25 Handicap, Club Champ or Tour Pro this is a putter you can truly call your own. West Coast Putter Company has developed the only putter that is designed for you.
